She was promoted to the Chief Photographer position three years later. During her tenure, she became one of the most important and well regarded photographers in the country, regularly shooting the biggest celebrities, musicians, and pop culture icons. In 1999, Leibovitz organized a photo show entitled Women which she also turned into an influential book. It was a simple idea:
