Why did you choose the DSI?

I was already working for my company as a dual student in the banking sector and was interested in expanding my specialist knowledge. With the DSI, I wanted to complement my business expertise with technical expertise.

What is the atmosphere like at Bremen University of Applied Sciences?

As we study at a smaller location of the university at the airport, the atmosphere is more informal and personal. The crowd is manageable and the lectures are therefore more seminar-based. This allows me to learn more, as I can get more involved in the lectures. There is also a friendly atmosphere, as friendships are formed not only within your own degree course, but also across courses.

What specifically did you do and learn there?

I am employed as an application developer and learn how to write ready-to-use software.

What should someone who is thinking about doing the DSI know?

So far, we haven’t been able to do much independently, as we only started our studies a few months ago, but we were able to learn the basics of programming as part of a Java course and, as newcomers, we learned how to work on projects together as a team, as we had to develop and present a text RPG game. We worked according to the Scrum model and were able to get to know the different roles and processes of this agile way of working.
