Florian, why did you choose the DSI?

I wanted to gain practical knowledge from the world of work alongside my studies.

What was the atmosphere like at the university?

Open and helpful. There was always the opportunity to discuss unclear content directly with the lecturers. This was also due to the small groups later on in the course.

We had a few compulsory elective modules where you could go into topics in more depth, for example project management, where I was able to supplement the content from both software engineering modules in a meaningful way. An extra module for software testing was also very interesting.

Which company was your practice partner?

The Federal Network Agency. In the end, I was an IT specialist for application development.

What should someone who is thinking about doing the DMI know?

You have to be aware that working part-time and studying are a double burden and that you don’t have a traditional semester break, for example.
